How To Choose Size

Start with the type of item you are buying, then compare the product’s garment measurements with a similar piece you already own and like. For Dries Van Noten clothing, fit can differ between regular, loose, oversized, fitted, and tailored styles.

• Choose your usual size for a balanced fit when the product is described as regular fit.

• Review the product description carefully when the style is listed as loose, oversized, fitted, or slim.

• For tops and knitwear, compare chest width, chest circumference, and shoulder measurements with a garment that fits you well.

• For pants, jeans, shorts, and suits, compare waist, lower waist, and hip measurements before selecting a size.

• For structured clothing, allow room for movement, layering, and the fabric’s natural shape.

Measuring Tips

For the most accurate comparison, lay a similar garment flat on a smooth surface and measure it without stretching the fabric.

• Chest circumference: measure around the fullest part of the chest while keeping the tape level.

• Chest width: measure straight across a flat garment from underarm to underarm.

• Shoulders width: measure across the back from one shoulder point to the other.

• Waist circumference: measure around the natural waistline without pulling the tape too tightly.

• Lower waist or belt: measure where the waistband or belt area usually sits.

• Hip circumference: measure around the fullest part of the hips.

• Compare measurements in centimeters when the product chart is shown in centimeters.

Fit Notes

Dries Van Noten pieces may use different proportions depending on the season, category, fabric, and silhouette. A T-shirt, shirt, blazer, dress, pant, skirt, coat, jacket, suit, sweater, or sweatshirt may not fit the same way even when the labeled size looks similar.

Pay close attention to the fit description on each product page. Words such as regular, loose, oversized, slim, fitted, wide leg, cropped, or tailored are important when deciding which size will feel right.

Between Sizes

If you are between sizes, choose based on the fit you prefer and the garment shape. Size up for a more relaxed look or easier layering, especially with sweaters, sweatshirts, outerwear, blazers, and structured tops. Size down only when the product measurements and fit notes support a closer fit.

Product Detail Reminder

This guide is helpful for general comparison, but individual product pages may include more specific sizing, model measurements, and fit details. Always check the selected item’s product detail page before placing your order.
